Many consider Ada, Countess of Lovelace (1815 – 1852) as the first author of a computer programme – about a century before the modern computer was invented. Her notes concerning Charles Babbage’s lectures on the Analytical Engine, a proposed mechanical computer, contained the first algorithm designed to be carried out by a machine. This video presents the life and accomplishments of Ada Lovelace with an emphasis on her pioneering achievements in computer science and mathematics.

After the talk there will be an Online Screening on "Ada"(2019), short movie and a pannel discussion with movie director Steven Kammerer and leading actress Julie Bruns. In order to receive access credentials please contact Gabriela Michalek.
