Prof. Dr. Robert Denk

Hints for the Klausur Analysis I/II and Analysis II, respectively:

  • The exam Analysis I/II (e.g., Bachelor Mathematics, Bachelor Mathematical Finance, Lehramt) takes place on  Tuesday, September 21st, at 9-12 a.m. in Audimax (length 180 min). The exam contains both AI and AII.
  • The exam Analysis II (e.g., Bachelor Physics) takes place on Tuesday, September 21st, at 9-11 a.m.  in R 513 (length 120 min).
  • No additional material (lecture notes etc.) is admitted.
  • The exam will not contain a mulitple choice part. Some part of the exam will ask for important definitions and theorems.

Manuscript / lecture recording:

The content of the lectures is closely coordinated with my colleagues in analysis. Therefore, the following notes of Prof. Racke largely coincide with my lecture course: Merkblätter zur Analysis II (Prof. Dr. R. Racke).

Lecture notes of this course (in German, incrementally written) can be found here.

The lecture course is recorded in form of a video stream and can be foundhere.

Description:

This lecture course is mandatory for first years students in Mathematics and Mathematical Finance and recommended for interested students in Physics. The course is a continuation of the lecture course Analysis I. The main topics are functions of several variables, including differentiation and integration.

For a successful participation in the lecture course and for the understanding of the new concepts training is absolutely necessary. Therefore, regular and active participation in the exercise is of great importance.

Matlab programming:

In the lecture course some Matlab programs will be discussed. The related programs will be shown here.

Related modules (6 SWS, 9 Credits):

  • Bachelor Mathematik: Basismodul Analysis
  • Bachelor Mathematische Finanzökonomie: Basismodul Analysis (MFÖ-BA-Modul 1)
  • Bachelor Physik: Mathematik Modul A
  • Bachelor Economics: Ergänzungsmodul B9
  • Lehramtsstudiengang (Staatsexamen) Mathematik: Grundstudium

Details for the exams:

  • For all students: For the successful participation (Schein or Modul) the active participation on the exercises is necessary. This means a sufficiently large percentage of correctly solved exercises (approx. 50%) as well as active participation in the exercise groups.
  • For all students: Concerning the registration for the exams, please consider the notice at the Prüfungssekretariat.
  • For Bachelor students which need a module on Analysis I and II (e.g., Bachelor Mathematics,  Bachelor Mathematical Finance): A written exam on both semesters will be held at  September 21,  2010. The second written exam (resit) will take place during the semester holidays in spring 2011.
  • For Bachelor students which need a module on Analysis II only (e.g., Bachelor Physics or Nebenfach): A written exam will take place on September 21, 2010. The resit will probably be held in form of an oral exam.
  • For students of Lehramt or Diplom: A graded certification will be written based on the results of the exercises. The Zwischenprüfung and Vordiplomsprüfung, respectively, will take place at  September 21, 2010.
