Prof. Dr. Robert Denk

  • Time and place: Di 15.15-16.45, tbd
  • Registration in ILIAS

Content:

In many cases, equations which are discussed in analysis have their origin in physics. In this seminar, we want to discuss the physical background and modelling of known equations. In particular, we want to study equations which are already known from other lectures in mathematics (as Theory of partial differential equations or Functional analysis). Possible topics are:

  • Equations of Elasticity
  • Plate equation
  • Navier-Stokes equation
  • Notions from quantum mechanics

The seminar is suitable for master students who are interested in such and similar topics. However, this seminar does not serve as preparation for a master thesis.

The organisation of the seminar is done via ILIAS.
