Michael Kartmann

Ph. D. student Michael Kartmann

I have been a doctoral student of Prof. Dr Stefan Volkwein since October 2022. In my dissertation, I am working on the optimisation and model reduction of switched low-temperature heating networks as part of the BMBF ElAN Project (Efficient local waste heat utilisation in low-temperature networks).
Furthermore, I am part of the YMMOR Gruppe (Young Mathematicians in Model Order reduction). Current codes and software can be found on Github.

Research Topics:

  • Adaptive Reduced-Order Modeling
  • Multiobjective optimization
  • PDE constrained optimization and Optimal Control
  • Domain Decomposition Methods for nonlinear preconditioning

Programming languages:

  • Matlab
  • Python
  • R
  • Latex
